The End is Here!

Looks like another year is closing up shop! Yes, 2009 was a good one, but all things must come to an end! Or do they?  Throughout eternity the years come and the years go. Man marks them as they go by, never knowing if this will be the last one. There is no time or distance in eternity. There is no beginning and no end; it is forever! A year is just an increment of something that doesn't exist.

Jesus is our Example

Jesus went around doing His father's will and so must we! Jesus walked as a man on the earth, healing, saving and delivering people! The New Testament records many instances where Jesus did so and sozo was the word that described each situation. When Jesus freed the demon possessed man of Gadarene, Luke uses the word sozo to describe his deliverance. Luke was a physician and used that same word to mean healing. When the woman with the issue of blood touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, she was healed and the word sozo was again used. When Jairus’ daughter who had died was raised again to life, the word sozo was employed. Jesus explains the parable of the sower and describes someone’s restored relationship with God as being saved. That word, also, was sozo. As we see from all these examples, the word sozo means salvation, healing and deliverance spirit, soul and body!

Jesus first called twelve disciples and later enlarged that group to seventy. He gave them  power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. He did not leave us out! We see that the church has been given this same gift. (Luke 9:1-2, Luke10:19, Luke12:32Acts 8:4-12, 2 Cor 5:17) The good news of the kingdom is that healing and deliverance is available today! Jesus isn't here in the flesh, but his ambassadors are!

Words Kill & Words Give Life

Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose. Prov. 18:21 We need to watch what we say! Your mouth is the vehicle that takes you to your destiny!

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”(Hebrews 11:3) Another version puts it this way: “By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”

What we need to realize is that as sons and daughters of God, we have creative power! We frame our world, either good or bad by the words of our mouth.

The book of James warns us about the tongue: “In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.” (James 3:5,6)

There is great power in your words! You must know who you are in Christ and speak those things that He says about you! You  are more than a conqueror and you can do all things throuh Christ.

Shame & The Blood Covenant

There is no cure for shame other than the blood of Jesus. When you are spiritually or physically naked, you are ashamed and want to be covered. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they became uncovered. God killed the first animals to make a covering for Adam and Eve. The innocent gave their blood for the guilty. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. The cross represents the blood covenant that we have with God.

Fear about anything means you are out of covenant in that area. Hath God said? The enemy wants you to break covenant. God never breaks a covenant, but we do!

How does the enemy deceive us? We listen to the sound of the voice speaking to us and don't compare what's being said to what the Bible says.

The Invitation

All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. It is impossible to live without sinning. That’s why God provided a sacrifice, His Son. Jesus who did not sin became an eternal sacrifice for all who believe that! He died a horrible death on the cross. He paid an awful price so that you and I could be saved. If you know that you have sinned and want to be forgiven, turn from your wicked ways and accept God’s provision. Pray this simple prayer: Lord, I know that I am a sinner and I want to be forgiven. I accept Jesus as my Lord and turn from all evil. Jesus come into my heart and fill me with your precious Holy Spirit. I am born again. Thank you Lord!

You don’t have to pray it out loud or in a church, but you do need to confess it before others. If you prayed this and believed it in your heart, you are now a child of God. You are saved. You have a home in Heaven and all the angels are rejoicing because you have turned to God! Get a bible and begin reading it. The book of John is a great place to start. Be sure to find others to share your faith with and find a place where you can worship God with others of like and precious faith. Welcome to the family of God!
